Saint John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic church is nestled among the trees in the catskill mountains located in upstate New York. Working in the traditional timber block work style of the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountain highlanders, construction began in the early 1960's using cedar logs imported from British Columbia. Five structures in total exist on the church grounds including the belfry, entry gate, parish hall, and parsonage. The bell tower houses a 2000 pound bell from Italy and a second one from Holland. The detail of the design and construction and the beauty of it's surroundings make this church a pleasure to behold.
